Unrooted, Ungrafted Dormant Grape Material

CUTTING: Cuttings are usually rooted directly in the field or greenhouse. The proximal cut is flat and adjacent to the bottom bud, while the distal cut is slanted at an internode (approximately 5 buds per stick). Length is 16"-18".
BUDSTICK: Budsticks are typically used for chip budding onto already established rootstock or for bench grafting. The proximal cut is flat and adjacent to the bottom bud, while the distal cut is slanted at an internode (approximately 5 buds per stick). Length is 16"-18".

Allocation Policy: When demand exceeds supply, FPS grape materials are allocated among customers who order before the annual November 15th order deadline. Priority is given to customers in the following order: commercial grapevine nurseries; customers in California; customers outside California but within the U.S. FPS is no longer exporting any plant material outside the United States. Materials that remain after the allocation are sold on a first-come-first-served basis to customers who order after November 15th.
Rooted, Ungrafted Grape Mist Propagated Plants (MPPs)
Active growing plants propagated from dormant or green cuttings rooted under mist and established in 4" pots.
Time required to prepare MPPs depends on time of year requested, the availability of source. vines/mother plants and the number of other orders currently being prepared.

Allocation Policy: Mist propagated plants are produced year round on a custom order basis. Plants are prepared on a first-come, first-served basis. At the time plants are ordered, an estimate of the time required to produce the plants will be provided.
Grape Seed & Flower Clusters
Grape seed, cleaned & dried; ordering deadline August 15th $100.00 / quarter pound.
Flower clusters; ordering deadline March 1st $5.00 each
Material Allocation Policy
FPS dormant grape materials are allocated among all orders received and confirmed before November 15th each year. Orders are considered confirmed upon receipt of an original signed order form and required prepayment. In the event requests for some materials exceed the available supply, materials are allocated according to an established priority system. Any remaining dormant materials are sold on a first-come, first-served basis to customers submitting orders after November 15th.
Prices & Prepayment/Minimum Order Charge
There is a minimum order charge of $100.00 per order for plant material. Prices, prepayments and final billings are based on the number of units. When specific grape selection numbers are ordered, the price will be calculated according to the number of units ordered. Prepayment in the amount of 50% of material cost is required for domestic orders at the time the order is placed. Commercial nurseries are encouraged to open a business account so that pre-payment is not necessary.
Order Pickup/Shipping and Packing & Handling Charges
All orders are shipped F.O.B. Davis, California. Buyer agrees to pay all costs of transportation and assumes all risk of loss during shipment. No shipping or packing & handling fees are charged for orders picked up at the FPS facility; FPS asks that all orders for cuttings and mist propagated plants be picked up within 30 days of notification that they are ready for pickup. FPS reserves the right to assess customers for storage of materials not picked up after 30 days.
For all orders that are shipped to customers, shipping and packing & handling fees are added to the price of the material along with any fees for required documentation or testing. Shipping fees are charged at the actual cost to FPS. In addition 10% packing & handling fees are added to all shipped orders.
Policy on Cancellations and Changes to Orders
Because FPS materials are custom collected and prepared for each customer, cancellations are not accepted once material has been collected or plants have been started. Additions to orders will receive allocation priority according to the date they were added. FPS reserves the right to bill for and/or retain prepayments for materials that are cancelled once they have been collected or prepared.
Additional Phytosanitary Certificate, Testing, and Treatment Requirements
For out of state shipments, customers will be charged at actual cost for any required phytosanitary certificates and additional testing. Where pesticide treatment is required, customers will be charged a fee of $150.00.
