Comments	One of the parents of Muscat of Alexandria, Axina de tres bias (syn. Trifera), is an ancient black berry variety still grown on Sardinia (see reference 70). The synonyms for Axina de tres bias were given for the ability to flower and crop three times a year under favorable climatic conditions.

Source	Muscat of Alexandria FPS 03, from UC's Kearney Agricultural Center, California
Comments	This selection was donated to the Foundation Plant Services public collection in 2003 by Peter Christensen of University of California's Kearney Agricultural Center in central California. The material was taken from a Muscat of Alexandria FPS 03 vine that was planted at Kearney. The donation was done at the request of FPS to return the selection to the FPS foundation vineyard after all FPS vines had been removed from that vineyard. Muscat of Alexandria FPS 02 and FPS 03 were harvested from the same source vine in a California vineyard in the 1960's. They underwent different heat treatment periods at FPS between 1963 and 1965. When Muscat of Alexandria FPS 03 was returned to FPS in 2003, the Kearney material tested positive for virus and underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2010. The treated material successfully completed testing to qualify for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2013.
