Comments |
This red wine grape is an autochthonous variety from the Alentejo region of Portugal. The name 'Moreto' is a common one and is used as prime name for this variety and as a synonym name for several unrelated varieties (Baga, Camarate tinto, Castelão, Malvasia Preta, Mantheudo, Mureto, Trincadeira Preta). The Regua Agricultural Station (Centro de Estudos Vitivinicolas do Douro) in the Douro region of Portugal has in its collection this grape variety with the prime name Moreto. |
