The original material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS and qualified for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2015. The selection is available through VCR licensee Novavine Grapevine Nursery in Sonoma. |

This selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services in 1983 from Rauscedo Nursery in Italy. It is Rauscedo clone 7. The original plant material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture disease elimination therapy at FPS. After successful completion of testing for the California Registration & Certification Program, Montepulciano 03 was planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2000. Montepulciano 03 successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2011, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Montepulciano 03.1. |
