Comments The original plant material for this selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services, UC Davis, in April of 1986 from Rauscedo in Italy. The material was donated to the FPS public grapevine collection. The original material underwent testing and was assigned the selection number Kadarka 01 in 2009. Kardarka 01 was discovered to have virus prior to planting in the foundation vineyard and underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy in 2009. The treated material successfully completed testing in 2012, after which it was planted in the Classic Foundation Vineyard as Kadarka 02.
