Comments This rootstock selection came to Foundation Plant Services around 1960 from the United States Department of Agriculture Station in Fresno, California. The selection was named Harmony 01, which was initially planted in the old FPS foundation vineyard in 1962. Buds from Harmony 01 were subjected to heat treatment therapy for 84 days in 1965, after which the resulting vines were planted in the old foundation vineyard in 1966 as Harmony 04. Harmony 04 was subjected to heat treatment therapy for 155 days in 1972-73, and the newly treated plant material was planted in the foundation vineyard in 1973 as Harmony 05. Harmony 05 underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2009 in order to qualify for planting in the new Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard. That plant material successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2011, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Harmony 05.1.
