A grape breeding program resource, not fruit or rootstock cultivar. Also referred to as Renstack material. Derived from interspecific cross performed by the Cornell AgriTech Grapevine Breeding Program in 2016, one of four VG (VitisGen project) lines submitted to the FPS program from NY. Each line carries four genes for powdery mildew resistance, useful in breeding grapevines. From the female parent they inherited Run1 and Ren1. From the male parent they inherited Ren6 and Ren7. Breeders wishing to stack these genes into individual progeny vines may do so by using this line as a breeding parent. |
