This table grape selection came to Foundation Plant Services around 1967 from the UC Davis Department of Viticulture & Enology vineyard (location W9 v11). The original material was collected by Dr. Harold Olmo in 1948 in Afghanistan and returned to the United States under the name Husseine (U.S.D.A. Plant Introduction no. 171099). DNA analysis at FPS in 2019 revealed that the identity of the selection is Abjouch (Ab Jusht) and the name was changed at FPS to Abjouch 01. |
