Comments This variety was originally believed to be a cross of Nebbiolo x Barbera. DNA profiling reported in 2009 revealed that the cross was actually Chatus (Nebbiolo di Dronero) x Barbera. (Torello Marinoni et al. 2009. see references for full citation). The variety has a small planting in northern Italy.
