Comments The words Feher Szagos reportedly mean "Muscat blanc" in Hungarian. Feher Szagos is a synonym for the grape cultivar known as Ezerjó, which is the prime name by which this cultivar is known in Europe. FPS has chosen to leave the name Feher Szagos on its selection for historical reasons. The TTB has approved that name for use on wine labels in the United States.

Comments This selection came to Foundation Plant Services around 1960 from location I(eye)59 v17 of the vineyard of the Department of Viticulture at UC Davis. It was planted in the FPMS/FPS foundation vineyards at both Armstrong tract (1956, O.F.12 v21) and west of Hopkins Road (1961, C6 v15-16). The selection has elliptical white berries. The original untreated material was planted in the Classic Foundation Vineyard in 1992. Feher Szagos 01 underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2015 and qualified for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2018 as Feher Szagos 01.1.
