Comments	This selection was imported from Portugal by the late Dr. Harold Olmo (UC Davis) in 1984. The grape is grown in the Douro region of Portugal.

Comments	This selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services in 1984 from Portugal by UC Professor Harold Olmo for use in port wines. The original material was heat treated for 62 days after arrival at FPS but remained in the quarantine blocks until 2007 when it qualified for the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2007. The original material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2007. The treated material successfully completed testing to qualify for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2013.
