| Comments | Edelweiss was developed by Elmer Swenson and introduced by the University of Minnesota in 1978 The cultivar is a companion of Swenson Red. The complex hybrid contains Vitis labrusca, Vitis vinifera and Vitis riparia. Edelweiss is reportedly vigorous and productive. The cultivar is very winter hardy. It is primarily a table grape (seeded) but also makes semi-sweet to dry wines. |
