Varousset is one of a series of approximately 100 French hybrids developed by Bertille Seyve and his partner Victor Villard. The cultivar was classified as an authorized variety in southern France but was not cultivated widely. Varousset is a vigorous hybrid which has proved to be a good scion. The cultivar is not particularly resistant to diseases but produces a satisfactory yield. (reference 4). |
