Comments This variety is native to the historic region of Moldavia (now included in the Republic of Moldova and areas of Romania near the Ukraine)and is now an important grape in Romania. The name Feteasca means 'young girl's grape' in Romanian. Although frequently used as synonym names for Feteasca alba, the Hungarian grapes known as Leanyka and Leanka do not share a DNA profile with Feteasca alba. Reference 80 - WINE GRAPES, at p. 347.
