Comments This selection was donated to the public grapevine collection at Foundation Plant Services in 2014 by Pete Anderson of Eusinus Vineyard. Eusinus Vineyard is a small research block containing Italian grape varieties in Carlsbad, California. Anderson had been growing the Brachetto in his research vineyard for 6 years prior to the donation to FPS. Branchetto cuttings from the Istituto Sperimentale per la Viticoltura in Conegliano, Italy, were sent to the USDA National Germplasm Repository in Geneva, New York, in May 1969 (Plant Identification number 342668). The Repository in Geneva shared the germplasm with the National Clonal Germplasm Repository (NCGR) in Davis, California, who designed the accession DVIT 2906. Anderson obtained his Branchetto plant material from the Repository at Davis. Branchetto 03 successfully completed testing in 2015 to qualify for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program. The original material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2014 and qualified for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2017.
