| Pedigree |
Initially, Galet (1979) reported parentage as Subéreux (Seibel 6905) x Pinot noir (from Corton region of Burgundy). See also, Vitis International Variety Catalogue, www.vivc.de; Robinson, Harding, Vouillamoz. 2012. Wine Grapes. Harper Collins Publishers. Recent DNA analysis has expressed doubts about that parentage. Bautista et al. 2008. Use of Genetic Markers to Assess Pedigrees of Grape Cultivars and Breeding Program Selections, Am.J.Enol.Vitic. 59:3. The recent DNA results from Montpellier, France, concluded that the parents of Vignoles (Ravat 51) are Seibel 5455 (Plantet) and Seibel 880.
