Comments The website of the Geneva Grape Breeding Program indicates that this grape produces a highly ranked vinous, vinifera type wine. The distinctive red wine has a deep red color and attractive very and cherry fruit aromas. The vine is very vigorous and productive in Geneva, New York. Corot noir can be used for varietal wine production or for blending.

Comments This proprietary selection was received at Foundation Plant Services in 2000 from the Cornell-Geneva Grapevine Breeding Program in Geneva, New York. The selection was known as NY70.0809.10 until its release in 2006. The original material completed testing at FPS in 2002 and was installed in the Classic Foundation Vineyard. That material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2012 and qualified for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2015 as Corot noir 01.1.
