Comments This selection was developed by USDA-ARS grape breeders David Ramming and Ronald Tarailo. The selection was named after former UC Viticulture Extension specialist Pete Christensen. The original plant material successfully completed testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program and was planted in the FPS foundation vineyard in 2001. Selma Pete 01 underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2011 to qualify for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard. The treated material successfully completed testing in 2013 and will be planted at Russell Ranch as Selma Pete 01.1.
