Comments This selection was donated to the Foundation Plant Services public collection in 1998 from the University of California, Hopland Research & Extension Center in Mendocino County, California. The original plant material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture disease elimination therapy at FPS in 1999. After successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program, Fiano 01 was planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2003. Fiano 01 successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2011, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Fiano 01.1.

Comments This selection was donated to the Foundation Plant Services public collection in 2000 by Carlo Mastroberardino, Mastroberardino Winery, in Atripalda of the Campania region of Italy. It came with the name Fiano di Avellino. The original plant material was subjected to microshoot tip tissue culture disease elimination therapy at FPS in 2001. After successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program, Fiano 02 was planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2006. Fiano 02 successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2011, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Fiano 02.1.

Comments This selection (VCR clone 3) came to Foundation Plant Services in 2000 from Vivai Cooperativi Rauscedo, Italy. A VCR nursery clone description designates Avellino, Italy (in the province of Campania) as the source of clone VCR 3. The selection underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2001 and was planted in the Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2007. Fiano 03 successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2012, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Fiano 03.1. Fiano 03/03.1 is distributed by Novavine Grapevine Nursery.
