Comments This selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services in 1985 from Commonwealth Scientific Industry Research Organization (CSIRO), in Merbein, Australia. Tarrango is a red grape variety is used for wine production in unusually warm climates. The selection was formerly known at FPS as Tarrango II, because it was the second Tarrango selection sent from CSIRO. Former Tarrango selections at FPS could not be professionally identified. The original, untreated plant material for this selection successfully completed testing to qualify for the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2015.
