Treatments Microshoot tip tissue culture therapy
Comments This selection came to Foundation Plant Services in 1995 from Alberto Antonini in Italy. The original material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 1996. After successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program, Schioppettino 02 was planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2000. Backup vines were created for Schioppettino 02 using microshoot tip tissue culture therapy. The backup vines were planted in the Classic Foundation Vineyard without assignment of an official selection number. One of those backup vines successfully completed testing to qualify it for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard, where it was planted in 2012 as Schioppettino 02.1.
