Comments This variety was introduced to Friuli in northern Italy in the 19th century and was named Tokai at that time. Robinson et al. WINE GRAPES, p. 958 (2012). DNA analysis has shown that the variety Tocai Friulano (Sauvignonasse) is not the same as the variety known in California as Sauvignon vert (Muscadelle).
