Comments This selection came to Foundation Plant Services around 1960 from the vineyard of the Department of Viticulture & Enology, University of California, Davis (location I(eye)76 v 21). The vines from which this selection originated were planted in the Department collection sometime prior to 1950. The original material underwent testing at Foundation Plant Services and was planted in the old foundation vineyard in 1962. A tissue-cultured version of Tinto Cão FPS 01A has qualified for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard (see Tinto Cão 01A.1).
