Comments This cultivar was created by Professor Harold Olmo, UC Davis Department of Viticulture & Enology. The selection came to Foundation Plant Services in the early 1960's. After heat treatment for 105 days and index testing, Ruby Cabernet 01 was planted in the FPS foundation vineyard in 1966. Ruby Cabernet 01 was again heat treated for 61 days and released as Ruby Cabernet 02. Both Ruby Cabernet 02 and 03 were taken from the same source vine in the FPS foundation vineyard (FV E5 v1).

Comments This selection was developed by former Professor Harold P. Olmo, Department of Viticulture & Enology, University of California, Davis. The selection came to Foundation Plant Services in the early 1960's. After heat treatment for 105 days and index testing, Ruby Cabernet 01 was planted in the FPS foundation vineyard in 1966. Ruby Cabernet 01 was heat treated again for 61 days and planted in the foundation vineyard as Ruby Cabernet 03. Both Ruby Cabernet 02 and 03 were taken from the same source vine in the FPS foundation vineyard (FV E5 v1).
