This selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services in 1981 from Crinadero de Plantas in Los Andes, Chile. Negrita is the name used in Chile for Kishmish Chernyi. The original plant material underwent heat treatment for 168 days in 1983 and then underwent microshoot tip tissue culture disease elimination therapy. Negrita 01 was eventually planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2001 after successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program. Negrita 01 successfully completed testing under the 2010 Protocol in 2011, after which it was planted in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard as Negrita 01.1. |
