| Comments | This black cultivar is a rare Greek grape, whose identity (name and synonyms) has often been confused. Several grape varieties are cultivated in Greece under the name Fokiano. The authors of WINE GRAPES (2012) at p. 356 state that the "true" Fokiano is a black berried variety that probably originates from the Kyklades. A small planting of the cultivar was found in the Attiki region in the south of mainland Greece in 2008 and on various Aegean islands. |
