Comments Monastrell is the primary Spanish name for the grape variety known in France as Mourvèdre. The variety is also known in the Cataluña region of Spain as Mataró. The names Monastrell Menudo and Monastrell Verdadero are used in Spain as synonyms for the grape variety Graciano (see reference 80).
