Comments This selection came to Foundation Plant Services in 2000 from Quinta de Porto Franco, Cortegana, Agro Ideia Nursery in Portugal. The original plant material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 2000. After successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program, Alvarinho 01 was planted in the FPS Classic Foundation Vineyard in 2004. The plant material qualified for planting in the new Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2011 by successfully completing testing under the 2010 Protocol. The renumbered selection, Alvarinho 01.1, was planted at Russell Ranch in 2011.

Comments This selection was donated to the Foundation Plant Services public grapevine collection in 2010 by Jorge Boehm, Viveiros Plansel S.A., Portugal. The plant material is Plansel clone 641. After successful completion of testing for the California Grapevine Registration & Certification Program, Alvarinho 03 was released to the public in 2012. Alvarinho 03 underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy and successfully qualified for planting in the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2013 as Alvarinho 03.1.

Comments This selection was imported to Foundation Plant Services by Jorge Böhm, Viveiros Plansel S.A., as a proprietary selection in 2004. It was formerly known as Alvarinho FPS 02 (group 7852). The name of the selection was changed in 2008 to Alvarinho PLANSEL 639 to reflect the proprietary status of the clone. The clone was donated to the FPS public grapevine collection in 2019.
