This variety was developed for use as white wine blending base and concentrate production. UC Viticulture Extension Specialist Peter Christensen describes this
variety as follows: very vigorous and productive; strong, upright shoots with a moderately open canopy similar to Colombard; very large and long conical and shouldered clusters; medium-sized, uniform, and round berries; moderately-high acidity and neutral when ripe. For a detailed description of this variety, see the Foundation Plant Services (FPS) Grape Program Newsletter, October 2004, page 3 (http://fps.ucdavis.edu/ in the section entitled Publications/Grape). |
