This selection came to Foundation Plant Services in 1995 from the USDA-ARS grape breeding program in Fresno, California. The breeders of this selection were David Ramming and Ronald Tarailo. The original material underwent microshoot tip tissue culture therapy at FPS in 1996. Thomcord 02 qualified for the FPS foundation vineyard in 2000. This plant material, which was a backup vine for Thomcord 02, successfully completed testing to qualify for the Russell Ranch Foundation Vineyard in 2014. |
