Comments Airén is Spain's most planted wine variety, primarily in the East and Center of the country. Airén is a non-aromatic, neutral variety that has been used mainly for blending with other varieties particularly for brandy.

Comments Dr. Austin Goheen (USDA-ARS plant pathologist) imported this selection in 1980 from the AGRO 2001 nursery in Spain. The selection was planted in the FPS foundation vineyard in 2011.
