Comments This white wine selection came to Foundation Plant Services in 1977 from Dr. Hahn at Bundesforschungsanstalt für Rebzüchtung, Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen, Germany. That institute is now called Geilweilerhof Institute for Grape Breeding (Institut für Rebenzüchtung Geilweilerhof - IRZ), which specializes in breeding grapes and administers the Vitis International Variety Catalogue. The selection was collected in Germany and came to Foundation Plant Services with the notation that it was 'White variety, No. 411'. The original material was tested and found to contain Rupestris stem pitting virus. It was advanced in the R&C Program from FPS S1 (group 2352) to FPS 01 (group 8857).
