Orig. in Mountain Grove, MO., by Paul H. Shepard, Missouri State Fruit Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1946. Frank x Halehaven; selected in 1943. Large fruit; round to ovate; skin blushed over most of the surface, yellow ground color, pubescence light, very attractive; flesh yellow. Has a firm, melting, medium texture. Very good quality peach. Excellent for processing, fresh market, canning, and preserves. Trees are very vigorous; regular production even in adverse spring weather; tolerant to bacteriosis; flowers large, showy; leaf glands globose. |
