Orig. Modesto, Calif., by John Halford. Introd. in 1921. Discovered in 1919. Large fruit, firm, non-melting. Excellent canning quality. Great commercial cultivar. Trees produce heavy crops. Originally and still a popular canning peach in California. Possibly a seedling of Lovell. Seed now widely used as a rootstock. |
