Origin: Before 1915, Mr. Fay, Placer County, Ca. A popular yellow freestone, juicy, moderately sweet, and flavorful. Has an astringent flavor similar to Elberta peach but less astringent. Still used for canning and freezing on the West Coast. It carries gene for pollen sterility. It's susceptible to bacterial spot. |
