Description |
Orig. in Fresno, Calif., by USDA. Introd. in 1969. Fruit is larger than Red Globe, ovate with skin bright yellow with 1/3 to 2/3 covered with bright red blush. More highly colored than Le Grand; has yellow flesh, firm with smooth texture. An excellent quality nectarine that ships well. Can be harvested firm-ripe and tangy or soft-ripe and sweet. Ripens immediately after Flavortop or a few days earlier than Red Grand. Trees are vigorous; productive; flowers large; self fertile; leaf glands reniform. Susceptible to peach leaf curl, brown rot, Oriental fruit moth and bacterial leaf spot. |
