| Description |
Originated in Red Bluff, Calif., by Grant Merrill. Introduced in 1958. Fruit: size variable, large; skin highly colored red, medium thick. The Angelus peach is a mid late-season yellow-fleshed freestone with a mild, low-acid flavor; texture firm; ripens fairly evenly with some tendency to ripen first at the base. In warmer climates, the large fruit colors yellow with a little red blush. It is a firm, slightly elongated peach with good shipping qualities and good freezer storage life. Trees are vigorous; medium large; productive to heavy producer. |
