| Description |
Orig. at Giessen, Germany by W. Gruppe and H. Schmidt, Justus Liebig Univ., Giessen.
Known as the less demanding GiSelA cherry rootstock.
Slightly more vigorous than GiSelA®6(S) with comparable size-control and same yield capacity, although
these traits varied within the evaluation
site. This clone has performed very well under conditions suboptimal for GiSelA®5(S). Even on less favorable soils and under replanting conditions, GiSelA®13(S) achieved high yields and always good fruit quality. Similar traits to GiSelA®5(S) are precocity, no suckers, flat branching angles as well as good compatibility.
In South America, GiSelA®13(S) stood out by its tolerance to drought.
No negative characteristics have been reported for this rootstock. |
