| Description |
The original seedling tree of 'Julyprince' was labeled as BY93P3427 when planted at the Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Research lab., at Byron, GA in 1993. It was selected by W.R. Okie when it first fruited in 1995. Julyprince trees are vigorous and productive. Appears to be moderately resistant to bacterial spot. Fruit is large, usually round, and highly colored. Firm and softens very slowly on the tree, allowing it to be picked over a longer period than most other cultivars. At maturity the surface is 70%-80% bright red with an attractive yellow ground color and little pubescence. |
