| Description |
Originated in Parlier, California, by J.F. Doyle and T.M. DeJong. Emperor is a uniform plum, very large thats oblong to oval shaped. A midseason plum of high quality and high productivity. Skin is dark blue with waxy gray bloom with amber flesh. Heat tolerant; excellent fresh fruit. Trees are very vigorous, large, upright to upright-spreading. Very productive, regular bearer. Not highly self-fertile; successfully pollinized by French Prune. Should be propagated on plum rootstock, preferably Marianna, not on peach. |
