Description |
Orig. in Exeter, Calif. by S. T. Casselman. Introd. in 1959 by Reedley Nursery, Reedley, Calif. Discovered in 1956. Japanese plum. Fruit: Large. Size and shape similar to parent; skin color is crimson with blue bloom, has more yellow flecking in ground color and lighter red over-color than in parent; ripens a few days later than Late Santa Rosa; firm with rich, pleasing sweet tart flavor, fruit has a tendency to crack on stern end, particularly if subjected to rain. Cold hardy to U.S.D.A Zone 5.
