| Description |
Orig. in South Haven, Mich., by Stanley Johnston and J.E. Moulton, Michigan Agr. Expt. Sta. Introd. in 1963. Large fruit, nearly round; skin mostly red over deep yellow. Attractive, tough; flesh clear yellow, almost no red in pit cavity; Firm, very resistant to browning. Easily pitted by mechanical means; ships unusually well; cans and freezes well; remains on tree when mature; ripens about 2 weeks before Elberta. Trees are medium to large; vigorous; productive; self-fruitful; average or somewhat above average in hardiness; flowers medium large, deep pink. leaves with reniform glands. |
