| Description |
Orig. at U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Southeastern Fruit and Tree Nut Res. Lab., Byron, Ga.; selected in 1983; released by W.R. Okie in 1993. Large, round fruit. 70% bright red over an attractive golden-yellow ground with short pubescence. Yellow flesh with some red in the pit cavity. Very Firm, melting. An excellent eating quality peach. This cultivar is better adapted to humid climate than O'Henry but less red color. Trees are vigorous and productive; moderately resistant to bacterial spot. Flowers are large, showy, pink; Leaf gland reniform. |
