Climatic Adaptation Hardiness: USDA Zone 5A. Cold tolerance: Relatively hardy, more so than Prunus avium. Heat tolerance: Excellent; the new variety withstands tem peratures over 100° F.
Graft Compatibility Sweet cherries and many sour cherries (Montmorency not tested). Graft union similar to Gisela 5.
Propagation Notes Softwood cuttings and meristem cuttings in vitro.

Description Inventor: Guennadi Eremin, Krymsk (RU). It is a hybrid that resulted from a breeding program at the Breeding Station in Krymsk, Russia. Oldest Test Sites in the US: Sweet cherries -- 2000 in California, Oregon, Washington and New York. It is a precocious cherry rootstock that could be the replacement for the Gisela® series. It is semi-dwarfing, about 75% the size of Mazzard. Very sensitive to PNRSV and PDV. Krymsk 6 was developed from Prunus cerasus (the sour cherry). It is a semi-dwarf rootstock, suitable for both hot and cold climates.
