Originated in Fresno, California. Selected by J.H. Weinberger in cooperation with the USDA and University of California at Kearney Hort. Field Station, Parlier, CA. Introd. in 1980 by D.W. Ramming.
Fruit is oblate with dark purple to black skin at full maturity and a light yellow with some diffusion of red from skin when overripe. Good quality; firm; small pit; resembles Firar. Trees have normal vigor, flowers are self-infertile, pollenizer required, blooms with and is intercompatible with Friar. Trees grow rapidly and bears heavy crops. |
