| Description |
Originated in the Fruit Breeding Program of the Crop Diseases, Pests and Genetics Unit of the San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center in Parlier, Ca. Galaxy is a peento (saucer-shaped or "flat") freestone peach with white flesh and a sweet, low acid flavor. Galaxy ripens in mid-to-late June, and is larger, firmer and more attractive than the Stark Saturn cultivar, which ripens at the same time. It's a recommended packing cultivar for the Fresno area and is also a farmers market favorite. |
