| Description |
Originated in Berkeley, Ca by E.B. Babcock and C.O. Smith. Selected in 1923 at the California Citrus Experiment Station by H.B. Frost and J.W. Lesley. Introduced in 1933 by George P. Weldon. One of the first low-chill cultivars. Long-time favorite white-fleshed freestone. Fruit is medium to small. Skin is light pink with delicate blush to deep red on sun exposed portions. Attractive, flesh is nearly pure white with red near pit. Juicy, very sweet and good quality with mild, low acidity. Trees are medium to large in size; vigorous; spreading; leaf glands globose; leafs out early; very productive. |
