Sample Collection

Samples should consist of leaves from May through October. The testing method we use is highly sensitive so it's very important to minimize potential cross-contamination between positive and negative samples.

Important Points

  1. Collect six leaves from each cordon to account for potential uneven virus distribution. Samples will consist of a total of twelve leaves.
  2. Do not touch the ends of the petioles and leave the petiole attached to the leaf.
  3. Place the twelve leaves from one vine in a clearly labeled sealable bag; this is one sample.
  4. Bags must be labeled with consecutive numbers starting with '1'. Please do not include variety names, clone/selection numbers or field locations when labeling.
  5. Store samples at 4°C until shipped.

Once leaves have senesced, samples should consist of twelve 8"-10" dormant canes.

Shipping Instructions
