Licensing Process for UC-Patented Grape Cultivars
Propagating material of UC-patented grape cultivars can be supplied only to those who
are formally licensed by the UC Office of Technology Transfer to receive the University's cultivars.
If you are thinking of requesting UC-patented grape material from the FPS collection, you will first
need to contact the UC Office of Technology Transfer (OTT), located in Oakland, California, to inquire
about licensing possibilities and requirements. It is a good idea to contact OTT well in advance of
the time when you are hoping to obtain material, as the licensing process includes a good amount of
paperwork and processing time. FPS does not confirm orders for plant material until licensing
has been completed and confirmed by OTT staff.
